Getting started
How do I set up my store?+
After you sign up, Selka walks you through a quick setup — add your items, your PayNow details, pickup/delivery and opening hours. You can re-open it anytime from your dashboard, or fine-tune everything under Settings.
Is Selka free?+
Yes — the Free plan lets you take orders with no monthly fee (up to a generous monthly order limit). Pro removes the limit and unlocks extras like connecting your own domain. You only ever pay Selka a flat plan fee — we never take a cut of your sales.
What can I sell on Selka?+
Home food & bakes, retail products, services, and bookings/appointments. Each store type tunes the storefront and checkout to suit — e.g. bookings get a calendar and deposits.
Payments
How do customers pay me?+
The simplest way is PayNow: enter your PayNow UEN or mobile number once, and Selka shows each customer a QR with the exact amount and order reference already filled in. The money goes straight to your bank — Selka never holds your funds. You can also offer bank transfer or cash/in-person.
Do I need a card machine or payment gateway?+
No. PayNow is enough to start and is free. If you later want cards or automatic payment confirmation, you can connect HitPay in Settings — but it's optional.
How do I know a customer has paid?+
New orders arrive as “New” in your dashboard. Once you see the PayNow transfer in your bank (or the customer sends a screenshot), tap Confirm on the order. With HitPay connected, paid orders confirm automatically.
Can I add an order myself (phone or walk-in)?+
Yes — tap New orderon the Orders page to log a walk-in or phone order yourself: pick the items, add the customer, mark it paid if they've already paid.
Orders & WhatsApp
How does the WhatsApp part work?+
When a customer places an order, they get a WhatsApp link to message you with their order details pre-filled — so the conversation lands in your normal WhatsApp. You manage the order's status from your dashboard.
Do customers need to create an account?+
No. Customers check out as guests with just their name and WhatsApp number — no sign-up, no app to download. Less friction means more completed orders.
Will customers get order updates?+
Every order has a tracking link the customer can reopen anytime to see its status (confirmed, ready, completed). Updates appear there live as you move the order along.
Your storefront
How do customers find my store?+
You get a shareable link (e.g.
selka link/s/your-store) — put it in your Instagram bio, WhatsApp status, or anywhere. Stores also come with proper search-engine metadata so they can be found on Google.Can I use my own domain?+
Yes, on Pro. Connect a domain you already own, or buy a new one through Selka — then your store lives at
yourshop.com instead of a Selka link. Customers just see your domain.I already have a website — can I still use Selka?+
Yes, and you don't have to replace it. Two easy options: (1) point a subdomain like
shop.yoursite.comat your Selka store and add an “Order” button on your site, or (2) just add a link/button from your existing site straight to your Selka store. Your main website stays exactly as it is — only point your *root* domain at Selka if your Selka store is your whole website.Can I make it look like my brand?+
Yes — add your logo, pick a theme colour, add a banner and an announcement bar from Settings.
Products, stock & fulfilment
Can I add sizes or add-ons to a product?+
Yes. When adding a product you can create option groups — e.g. a “Size” group (pick one) or “Add-ons” (pick any), each with its own price. Customers choose them at checkout.
Can I limit stock or mark something sold out?+
Yes. Turn on stock tracking for an item and set a quantity (e.g. “20 cakes today”) — it counts down with each order and shows “Sold out” at zero. You can also toggle availability manually.
How do pickup and delivery times work?+
You set your pickup/delivery options and opening hours; customers then choose a date and an available time slot at checkout. You control the lead time and how slots are shown.
How do bookings and deposits work?+
Booking stores show a calendar with available slots. You can require a deposit (a fixed amount or a percentage) so customers commit when they book.
Account, plan & data
How do I upgrade to Pro?+
From Billing in your dashboard. You can cancel anytime; your store stays live on the Free plan.
Is my data safe?+
Yes. Each store's data is isolated, and we follow Singapore's PDPA — see our Privacy Notice. You own your data and can request export or deletion anytime.
